The purpose of this document is to inform all staff of the implementation of a staff policy relating to computer viruses. Computer viruses by definition are often malicious software programs created to destroy or damage information on our computers. This can on a small scale affect only the single computer, however in the case of ABC Inc.we use a networked computer systems. Because of this, if one computer becomes infected, every computer on the network will become infected. If this happens all data that everyone has worked so hard to collect over many years could be lost forever.

With this in mind ABC Inc, has adopted a staff policy in regards to data being brought into the office from outside sources. This includes floppy disks, ZIP disks, CD-ROM's, laptop computers and any other storage media. All of the these items are NOT to be used in any of the Organizations computers without consent from one of the directors.

If you use any of these items without first receiving consent from one of the directors and consequently infect the network, you will be held financially responsible for all costs incurred in resolving the virus related problems and the recovery of lost data.
