There's No Tank Tuffa Than a Tuffa Tank
GENERAL INFORMATION
TUFFA tanks are manufactured from virgin polyethylene which has been stabilised against Ultra Violet Degradation and will out last all other tank materials.
Potable water and food
contact
The Polyethylene material used in TUFFA
tanks complies with relevant standards for potable (drinking) water
storage. The material complies with Standards for drinking water
NZ/AS 4020 and NZ/BS 6920 (BS 6920). The colours used in TUFFA tanks satisfy the requirements for
Australian standard AS2070 parts 1,6&8 for food contact.
Resistance to Algae
growth
The compounded tank colours have been developed to resist the growth
of algae by inhibiting the transmission of light which normally
allows the growth of algae at a thickness of 4mm. It is the
formulation of the compounded tank colour and not any addition of a
fungicide which is responsible for the effective prevention of the
growth of algae TUFFA tanks are designed
and built to a standard with a wall thickness exceeding 4mm.
Manufacturing
standards
TUFFA tanks are designed by experienced
tank manufactures in Australia to be generally in accordance with the
relevant standards. They are manufactured under strict control in our
purpose built manufacturing plant in Lae and each tank is checked for
compliance to our manufacturing quality assurance standards before
being shipped.
Ultraviolet light
stability
All polyethylenes are susceptible to degradation upon long term
exposure. This degradation can be effectively inhibited by the
addition of UV stabilisers. The compounded tank colours used in the
manufacture of TUFFA tanks contain an excellent UV additive packaged
for UV8, which is designed to handle the UV conditions in Australia,
New Zealand and the pacific region. A typical UV package used in the
USA or Europe would be rated at UV4.
Construction
Tanks are manufactured in ONE PIECE CONSTRUCTION throughout. The top
of the tank is then removed if required for transportation. By
removing the top a number of tanks can be nested or grouped together.
By this method the cost of transportation is greatly reduced. The top
of the tank is easily reinstalled and fixed in place by screws. The
unique design of the TUFFA tank lid and
the upper body of the tank ensures that the original strength and
rigidity is maintained when the tank lid is re-assembled. Both the
one and two piece tanks are extremely strong and durable.
