Cooperants
Cooperants are the source of the most significant contribution CUSO PNG makes to development in PNG. They are experienced and qualified individuals committed to their field of work in Canada, and who are prepared to apply that same commitment here in PNG.
These people come from a wide variety of backgrounds and fields of expertise. This diversity is pulled together to support CUSO PNG's commitment to improvements in Women and Children's Rights, Communities Managing their Natural Resources, or in the Organisational Support to other agencies broadly working in these areas.
These are opportunities for people who are developing their own career by working on the cutting edge of many different development issues. While cultural exchange still forms an important part of cooperants' rationale for working overseas, it is increasingly also becoming an avenue to refine their work experience through tackling complex development work.
