Introduction:

Welcome to the fourth report for 2004.
This is the twenty fifth report on the Church Building program for the month of April.
In 2002, we established agreements with all of the sub parishes, started at Amu.
In 2003, we collected gravel for Arop1, Arop2 and Pou; began site work at Arop1 and Pou, and the welding of the steel frames for Arop2; at Amu we completed the roof and the concrete floor; at Barapu completed the ground works; and began the design of Barapu and Sissano.

This month the roof at Arop1 was completed, and the legs for the tower stood up. As seen in photo 1, the tower is internal, and the roof has a different shape, not squares as at Amu.

The Pou church frames were stood up this month. Pou has an 'A' frame shape and a timber structure with bolted steel plate connectors.

Amu

Arop 1-2 road

Work continues at Amu, and this month the concrete works, flat tank stands outside footpaths and septic tank were completed.
On the road between Arop1 and 2 we paid the compensation to the land owners for the crops, and started work on the drains. At Sissano, we were already underway building a site house for the supervisor, and started shaping the site by hand. There is no road there and access is by speed boat. Steel materials for the Sissano church were ordered this month.
