Certificate teachers privileged to receive diploma course in Primary Inservice.
An inservice course offered by PNGEI (Papua New Guinea Education Institute) was conducted in Aitape for two weeks to upgrade teacher qualifications, especially certificate holders to qualify and equip themselves with the latest reform curriculum to enable them to teach in their schools.
18th May 2007 saw 35 teachers receive their certificates of attainment for the two weeks course.
The course tutored by lecturers from the PNGEI was made possible by the Diocese of Aitape through the office of Inservice Coordination, who subsidized the course with K4, 000.00.
Although the course targeted teachers from Catholic Agency schools, others also took the opportunity to be a participant as well.
Diocesan Inservice Coordinator Florian Kiwewe, also expressed his satisfaction and gratitude toward the church for its support to the teachers.
"I praise you teachers for your achievement, as the majority of the participants have scored high distinctions," he added.
Mr. Kiwewe also encouraged the teachers to make use of the opportunity of the two future courses that are planned to eventuate later this year.
The office of the Catholic Education Services would like to acknowledge and commend other teachers who are using their own money to attend the full course at the PNGEI campus in Port Moresby.
We wish all of you good luck and happy teaching.
