Religious Congregation initiates sports program for elementary school children.

Pikinini Sports Outreach a children's sports program has been initiated by the Patrician Brothers Congregation in Aitape.

This sports program which has been very fortunate to have the sponsorship of the Patrician Brothers in Australia and has been an enlightenment in the lives of many young children in Aitape.

The program targets mainly elementary school students between the ages of six to nine years old.

It is encouraging students from elementary schools within the Aitape town vicinity to take part.

There are various sporting games being played such as touch footy, volleyball and basketball.

The program will be on for six weeks before the finals are played. Awards will also be given to winning teams.

The program outreach aims to build unity, and sports skills among the children and to promote their interest for sports.
