Children Helping Children - All schools to collect from pupils
Last year the Diocese of Aitape fell behind badly in its annual amounts of offerings for the above. Some parishes had nil returns. This was due in part to mismanagement in the Finance Office and also lack of collections in parishes. As a local Church we cannot ignore the wider Church, as we depend so much on the generosity of others. If they see us constantly asking yet reluctant to give the 'widow's mite' they will ignore our requests.
As a method of making sure that what is collected is sent to the proper recipient, a bunch of envelopes are hereby sent to each parish for distribution to sub-parishes, schools, groups and any other organisation in the parish.
As quickly as possible after the collection date please send a cheque to the Finance Office, Aitape.
Let us make an effort this year to redeem our good name.
Bishop Austen Crapp, ofm
