A happy moment for the people of Lido village in Vanimo, to have one of their very own become the first from their village to become a professed.

Sr. Clementina Huti MFIC, became the first from Lido village and the second from the Vanimo area to make her final vows as a Missionary Franciscan Sister of the Immaculate Conception. Her Provincial, Sr. Rosella Lasi MFIC, was the first from Waramu Village.
At this special occassion, the two bishops of the two dioceses, Bishop Austen Crapp OFM, from Aitape and Bishop Caesare Bonivento, from Vanimo, celebrated Mass together with a huge crowd of witnesses mostly from Lido, Waramu, Yako, Vanimo Town and even a little group from Aitape, who had made an effort to be there for the event.
In his homily, Bishop Austen talked about the essence of God's plan in each person's life. That people were called for different vocations, and that each vocation had it's own share of sacrifices and rewards.
"Papa God igat plen bilong yu, Sr. Clementina long kamap olsem bilong mekim dispela wok, wankain olsem yumi wanwan igat ol plen bilong yumi olgeta. Na insait long dispela plen bilong laip bilong yumi wanwan, pasin bilong God imas win oltaim," said Bishop Austen.
Sr. Rosella Lasi MFIC, the Provincial was there to receive Sr. Clementina's vows. Other MFIC sisters, as well as Fr. Augustine Kulmana, along with other religious from the Diocese of Vanimo were also present at the occasion.
