Religious living within the St. Ignatius Cathedral Parish celebrated the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.
The occassion was also marked as the Feast of Consecrated Religious men and women, with the theme; 'In acceptance of life, we follow Christ our light.'
The event took place at the St. Damiano Chapel, St. Clare's, Aitape. It was attended by religious from various congregations and orders and included the Presentation Sisters, Poor Clare Sisters, St. John of God Brothers, Franciscan Friars, Patrician Brothers, Spiritan Priestss, Diocesan Priests and Seminarians and the St. Clare Sisters. There were also attendees from Heads of Diocesan Office Programs.
Main celebrant was Bishop Austin Crapp ofm, who was accompanied by his fellow priests.
"One of the most outstanding parts of the mass was the candle procession to the end. After the candles were blessed by Bisop Austin, we processed out of the chapel, each holding one, and formed a circle. It was very nice and had a significance to the whole event," commented Sr. Rosemary Milur mfic.
The day ended with a delicious feast at the Villa Spada.
