St. Xavier Primary School (Yauluwape) celebrated World Environment Day on 6th June 2007.
The theme of the day was 'Yumi mas traim long seivim ol ailan bilong yumi long noken go aninit long si'.
The day was celebrated with different types of activities. The main participants were teachers and students. However, many parents and the general public came to participate as well.
The most interesting activity was about 'Global Warming'. The teachers took part in demonstrating the topic with experiments related to global warming such as ice-melting therefore causing the sea level to rise, etc.
It was very interesting and many parents asked many questions. The three teachers also gave very good answers to their questions.
The day ended with the planting of orchids around the school ground.
