Member for Aitape-Lumi District helps his electorate with a fleet of four new landcruisers.
Minister for Forest and Member for Aitape-Lumi Electorate, Patrick Pruaitch last week presented four new vehicles to the District Administration office.
These four new vehicles, were assigned to the District Administator's office, DPI, Deputy Administrator (Lumi) and District Education office.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, Mr. Pruaitch stressed that the well-being of the new vehicles depended upon the officers using the facilities.
"These vehilces have been purposely bought to help bring services to the people of Aitape-Lumi and I expect them to be taken care of and not misused," said Mr. Pruaitch.
He also added that four more vehicles were soon to be delivered in the next few months. These would be given to the police and other offices within the district administration.
It was also reported that the new fleet had cost approximately K400, 000 and that four more new vehicles were to be bought however, due to shortage of finance these will be purchased at a later date.
Mr. Pruaitch also commented that K10, 000 was given to improve the district police station and that they will also be getting a new vehicle.
