The Sandaun Provincial Education Board was formally sworn in by Senior Magistrate Jack August on 18th May, 2005.
The ceremony took place at the Sandaun Provincial Assembly Conference Room in Vanimo, involving all members and alternate members who represented wide areas of education benefactors and deliverers.
Among the important people that witnessed the swearing in ceremony were the Provincial Secretary, Joe Sungi, local MP for Nuku, Andrew Kumbakor and the Provincial Chairman for Education Services, Frank Evans.
In their short addresses, the leaders expressed relief that a PEB is now in existence after some years of illegal operation. A PEB is vital to the province if it is to see a good education service network in place.
The board convened its first meeting on 19th May, 2005.
