Wednesday 25th May was a very special day for the students, teachers and parents at St. Mathew's Sabig Community School.
38 Grade Four (4) students received the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion.
After the Eucharist celebration, food was prepared for the invited guests including Fr. Dominic Numbanoko, who was the main celebrant for the mass.
The parents brought some presents for the teachers and students. One parent presented a teacher with a delicious parcel of cooked sago and a piece of tasty snake meat (python). Surely the teacher was surprised to see the snake, however thank God that parent was not like the woman in the Bible story who had nothing else to offer but the one toea coin she had.
As the saying goes; "when there is food we feast, but when there is none we fast."
