Children Helping Children

This is to inform parents or guardians of school children within our Catholic Education Agency schools that a letter was written to all the school's Religious Instruction (R.I.) Coordinators appealing for graeter animation on the 'Children Helping Children (C.H.C) Appeal'.

The CHC appeal is targeting school children to donate money for the purpose of assisting other unfortunate children around the world who are not well off in many ways.

As an undeveloped country, our expression of sympathy, caring and sharing, should be encouraged because we are also in this category of countries where richer nations coem to our aid in many other indirect and direct ways.

Papua New Guinea however in some ways is fortunate then others because we have land and resources to earn and sustain our living. The PNG government has already gone to the aid of our neighbouring Pacific countries. So we can do it too for other suffering children in the very poor nations of the world.

Teachers in all schools are encouraged to take the appeal seriously and animate every child to donate to make this appeal a success this year.

The same request is also going out to YOU parents and guardians to encourage and enable your child, nephew, niece or grandchildren to give, not because they want to be simply good, but because they want to be good for someone.

Donations can be made during school liturgies, fund raising, collections in class or at assemblies regularly. If there are parents or guardians out there who would like to donate on behalf of their child and a school, can do so to the R&R office or the CEC office, Diocese of Aitape.

You can say that you have faith, but where does it show! Have a heart for others just as Christ had his heart for you.
