Murdered missionary laid to rest in Sandaun Province.

The people of Aitape paid their solemn respects to late Br. Augustine Taiwa OH, on Monday 4th September when he was laid to rest.

Many attended his funeral mass to farewell the Brother, who was loved by all.

He was a well known figure in the community especially among many of the youth, and the news of his passing was unexpected. many were saddened because Br. Augustine had a great impact on the livelihood of many of them while here in Aitape before leaving for Port Moresby in 2003.

Br. Augustine's body arrived in Aitape by escort from Wewak and was held for public viewing until Monday for the burial.

He was laid to rest beside the St. John of God's chapel in Aitape.
