PAPUA NEW GUINEA DROUGHT
THE PNG AND AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCES WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE PEOPLE OF PNG DURING THE 1997 – 1998 DROUGHT
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP
If you are interested in helping the people of Papua New Guinea during this difficult time, contact your nearest aid organisation. For example, in Australia, the Returned Services League has launched a nation-wide Papua New Guinea Drought Relief Appeal. People in Australia can contact the Returned Services League to find out more details.
However, please remember that the PNGDF and ADF aircraft and vehicles are fully committed to transporting rice, flour and cooking oil and other vital supplies to those people whom urgently need them. We do not have spare capacity to distribute packages and other donations throughout PNG.
So while we encourage you to support the people of PNG in this time of great need, please think carefully about the best way to help.
