iPass Frequently Asked Questions.

Question What is the iPass global Internet Roaming service ?
Answer The iPass global Internet roaming service is a service that gives Global Internet customers a local dial-in number to access the Internet when travelling to an area where Global Internet does not have a local access number. This is an ideal solution for travelling Internet customers.

When you subscribe to this service, you are able to connect to the Internet through other iPass ISP partners. It is no longer necessary to have multiple ISP accounts just for the sake of being able to surf the Internet and you can also save on long-distance phone bills.

Question How does it work?
Answer The use of intelligent routing and software that resides on the participating Internet service providers, computer system make this roaming service possible. iPass provides a service between ISPs to enable their customers to be authenticated when dialling into each other's service.

All you must do is have an account with Global Internet and register for the Global Roaming Access Service. When you travel, you dial into a local number and you log in with the same dialup username and password, but include your domain name after your username (e.g., username@global.net.pg).

In effect, you are still logging into the Internet via Global Internet, even though you are dialling in through a different provider. You can continue to use your regular web browser, e-mail program or newsgroup software.
